A New Focus Moving Forward
One year ago, we launched Altcoin Analyst with a clear mission: to provide institutional-grade analysis on altcoins, making it easier for investors to conduct their own research in minutes rather than hours.
Since then, we have published:
- 40 in-depth crypto research reports (nearly one per week)
- Educational blog posts and product reviews
- 18 YouTube videos summarizing our research
- A growing website subscriber base, now at over 150 subscribers
- A newsletter list with over 100 subscribers
- A social presence that includes 350 followers on X, 85 YouTube subscribers, and 95 followers on CoinMarketCap, with expanding audiences on Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn
Producing this level of content has been more challenging than expected, but it has also been rewarding. More importantly, we have learned what our customers value most. Based on this, we are making several key changes to enhance the quality and focus of our research.
So, What’s Changing?
A Stronger Focus on Microcap Altcoins
Our most engaged research studies have focused on microcap altcoins—projects that often have significant upside potential but are difficult to research due to limited available information. Moving forward, we will focus exclusively on microcap altcoins, particularly in the following areas:
- Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN)
- Decentralized Finance (DeFi)
- Gaming and Metaverse projects
- AI and blockchain integration
- Real World Assets (RWAs)
This means that we will no longer release studies on coins with a market cap of over $200 million. We will also consider other factors such as circulating supply and volume to ensure we are covering only high-quality projects.
By narrowing our focus, we can provide deeper, higher-quality analysis on projects that are not well covered elsewhere.
A New Altcoin Scoring System
To make our research more actionable, we are introducing a scoring system that evaluates altcoins based on six key factors:
- Team & Development – Does the project have an experienced team, and is it actively maintained?
- Tokenomics – Is the supply distribution sustainable, or are there risks of dilution?
- Real-World Utility & Product – Does the project have a working product or strong potential for adoption?
- Market Opportunity – How large is the project’s total addressable market?
- Risk Assessment – Are there major red flags, security risks, or governance concerns?
- Investment Dynamics – How does the project compare to competitors, and what is its potential for high-multiple growth?
Customers will be able to score the coins we review against these criteria and compare altcoins to better determine whether a project is worth investing in.
This structured approach will help customers quickly understand how we assess projects, making it easier to make informed investment decisions.
Monetization Strategy: Keeping Research Accessible
Until now, all of our research has been available for free to our members. While we remain committed to keeping research affordable and accessible, we will introduce monetization strategies to ensure the long-term sustainability of Altcoin Analyst.
Planned monetization strategies include:
- Low-cost subscription options for premium research access
- Advertising partnerships (contact [email protected] for inquiries)
- Opportunities for sponsored research with full transparency and editorial integrity
We will continue to prioritize unbiased research while ensuring that monetization does not compromise our credibility.
